Kathleen Starkey, a former treasurer of the Wolverine Lion's Club was arrested on charges she embezzled money from the organization.
Starkey, 46, of Wolverine, was arraigned in 89th District Court on April 5th.
Her arrest stems from an investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police Post in Cheboygan. According to Troopers, Starkey took approximately $4000 while serving as an officer with the club between July 2012 and January 2013.
Embezzlement from a non-profit is a 5 year felony. Starkey will be back in court for a pre-trial on April 15th.
Her bond was set at $5000.
