A plumber formerly employed with the Moore Public School district was charged with embezzlement Thursday after allegedly pawning tools from the school.
Anthony Doyle Banks, 21, of Oklahoma City was charged with the felony in Cleveland County District Court.
According to an affidavit filed with the charge, during the course of Banks’ employment with MPS, he took tools without permission and pawned them. The tools were then sold by the pawn shop or recovered from pawn by Banks and never returned to the district.
The felony information filed Thursday shows two pawn shops were listed as witnesses in the case, including EZ Pawn in Oklahoma City and Cash Now Pawn in Moore.
The tools Banks took without permission have an estimated value of $650, records show.
A warrant of arrest was requested for Banks on Thursday, as well.
