Church financial secretary faces embezzlement charges in North Carolina

A Vanceboro woman faces seven counts of embezzlement from a Vanceboro church where she served as financial secretary.
Samantha Lee Hines, 29, of Mile Road, Vanceboro, allegedly committed the crimes between March and May 2012. The warrants state that the embezzlements occurred in the amounts of $600, $500, $800, $800, $100, $750, and $1,500, all taken from Queen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Vanceboro.

Hines is out of jail with her bail set at $35,000. Her next court date is set for Feb. 14
